Young actor Nikhil has been disappointed with his recent outing Kirrak Party which ended up as a debacle. After a small break, he started shooting for an action thriller which has been titled Mudra. The movie is the remake of Tamil blockbuster Kanithan which has been directed by TN Santosh. Catherine Tresa played the female lead in the original and the actress has been asked to play the role in Telugu version too. Catherine was not in a mood to play the role again and rejected the offer.
Now the makers approached Lavanya Tripathi for the lead role and she watched the Tamil version recently and gave her nod. Lavanya Tripathi will join the sets of the film from June and the shoot is taking place currently in Hyderabad. Lavanya Tripathi too has been shattered with debacles and is waiting for the right film. TN Santosh is directing the Telugu version too and Tagore Madhu is the producer. Mudra will release later this year.
