Thala Ajith is testing his luck after a small break with his next movie titled Vivekam. Siva directed this packed action entertainer in which Ajith played a spy. Kajal Agarwal played the female lead and Vivek Oberoi essayed the role of the lead antagonist. Anirudh is the music composer and Satya Jyothi Films bankrolled the project. Vivekam released all over today and here is the complete review of the film.

Story:

Vivekam is all about AK (Ajith Kumar) who is a spy and cracks several operations successfully. However one incident alters his reputation completely and the whole government opposes him. AK turns out to be the most wanted terrorist and he comes to know that it is because of Aryan Singha (Vivek Oberoi). Things become shattered and AK even doesn’t meet his wife Yazhini (Kajal Agarwal). The rest of Vivekam is all about how AK bounces back. Watch the film to know about the rest.

Analysis:

The first half of Vivekam has been loaded with heaps of action episodes. The high voltage action sequences leave the audience exhausted and the beautiful and melodious songs refresh them. The interval episodes have been shot well and on the whole the first half has been completely banked on Ajith and the high voltage action episodes.

The second half of Vivekam looks completely deviated and looks extremely dragged. The poorly written second half makes no impact and it is the action episodes that make the film stand tall. The songs too have been barriers and the climax has been completely disappointing. Vivekam second half will sure have a massive impact on the result and should have been penned and executed well.

Performance:

The level of dedication and the hardwork Ajith puts has been completely visible on screen. He is a treat to be watched and he excelled in the role of AK throughout. He is the major boost up in Vivekam and his performance is the major highlight. Kajal Agarwal had a crisp role assigned however she shined throughout. Vivek Oberoi is the other highlight of Vivekam and he challenged Ajith in Vivekam with his performance. All the other actors managed to do justice for their assignments.

Vivekam has a weak plot which has been penned banking on Ajith and his body language. The screenplay, dialogues too make no impact. The action episodes have been shot well and they are the major highlights of the film. The music, background score have been soothing and apt. The cinematography captures some of the finest visuals of Indian cinema till date. The production values have been extremely huge which makes Vivekam look colourful. Siva has been completely successful in impressing Ajith’s fans.

Verdict:

Vivekam is strictly a treat for Ajith’s fans however the dragged, predictable second half may not go well with normal film lovers. Action episodes and the grand production values are the major highlights.

Rating: 2.75/5
