Ilayathalapathy Vijay pinned all his hopes on his film Mersal which released during Diwali this year. Directed by Atlee, the movie showcased Vijay in a triple role. Samantha, Nithya Menen and Kajal Agarwal are the female leads in the movie which has been declared as one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Tamil cinema. The movie now crossed Rs 225 crore mark across the globe and is running successfully in its fourth week.
The movie unit has been extremely delighted with the film’s success and celebrated the event. Mersal is hitting the screens in Telugu as Adhirindi on November 9th. The Telugu release has been delayed due to the delay in issuing the censor certificate. Sri Thenandal Films produced Mersal while AR Rahman composed the tunes and the background score. Mersal is expected to collect Rs 250 crores in its final run.
